Talent Community
Overviewβ
Summary
Talent Community is a shared repository of candidate resumes available to all recruiters on Knoot, distinct from My Talent Pool (each company's private repository). Recruiters can search this pool via AI-powered natural language queries or structured advanced filters, review candidates through a preview card, and unlock full contact details and resumes using Points.
Scope
- Browsing and searching the shared candidate pool.
- Two search modes: AI Search (natural language) and Advanced Search (structured filters, including Screening).
- Viewing candidate detail pages and unlocking full profiles via Points.
- Does not cover point top-up/purchase flows, subscription/plan management, or the Screening scoring algorithm itself (see related Screening spec).
Target Users HR / recruiters with an available Points balance. Candidates do not have access to this feature.

Key Benefitsβ
- Proactive sourcing β recruiters can actively search for candidates instead of passively waiting for applications after posting a job.
- Faster candidate discovery β AI Search lets recruiters query in natural language instead of manually stepping through multiple filters.
- Reduced screening time β AI auto-generates an "About Candidate" summary (strengths, watch-outs, best-fit roles), cutting down the time spent reading raw resumes.
- Pay-per-unlock pricing β recruiters spend Points only on the candidates they actually want to view, rather than paying for a flat subscription to the entire database.
Step-by-Step Guideβ
A. Browse & Basic Searchβ
- Navigate to Radar β Talent Community.
- Landing state: a "Recent Resumes on Knoot" carousel (newest candidate cards across the system) plus an empty search field.
- Select a search mode:
- AI Search β free-text input. When the field is empty, the system shows "Recent Searches" (past queries with result counts).
- Advanced Search β opens the structured filter flow (see Section B).
- Submit the search β the system returns a list of resume cards matching the query.
- Click Details on any card to open the candidate detail page.

B. Advanced Search / Screening (gated flow)β
- Select a Candidate Source: "From My Talent Pool" and/or "From Talent Community" β at least one must be enabled.
- If running Screening, the system requires a minimum of 15 selected resumes before it can proceed.
- Set the years of experience range using a dual-handle slider (0β20 years).
- Select a Job Description to match against. If no JD has been published yet, the system blocks the action and redirects the user to Job Management to create one.

C. Candidate Detail & Unlockβ
- The detail page has three tabs: Basic Information / Details / Feedback.
- Basic Information is publicly visible: name, job title, country, and an AI-generated "About Candidate" summary (strengths, limitations, best-fit roles).
- Contact information and the original resume are blurred, with an "Unlock Now" call-to-action.
- Clicking Unlock opens a confirmation modal β "Get this talent now" β showing the price in Points (e.g. 155 points) with a non-refundable warning.
- Confirming the action deducts Points and unlocks full contact details and the original resume, along with a Download Knoot Overview button.

Edge Cases & Open Questionsβ
P0 = blocks release Β· P1 = should resolve before release Β· P2 = can resolve post-launch
Search & Discoveryβ
- P0 β Clicking AI Search / Advanced Search with an empty field: should this be blocked (disabled button), or should it run an empty search and return the full pool?
- P0 β Duplicate candidates across "My Talent Pool" and "Talent Community" (same person, two sources): how should dedup work β one card shown, or two?
- P1 β Logically contradictory queries (e.g. "20 years of experience, fresher"): what does AI Search return? Is there validation, or does it run unvalidated?
- P1 β A recruiter has already unlocked a candidate and searches again: does the card show an "already unlocked" state (free to view again), or does it charge Points a second time?
Points & Paymentsβ
- P0 β Insufficient Points when clicking Unlock: where does this get blocked, and is there a top-up flow available directly in the modal, or must the user exit first?
- P0 β Two recruiters from the same company, different accounts, both unlock the same candidate: is this billed per user or per company/workspace? If per user, this is a pricing design flaw (double-charging for the same data) and needs to be resolved before development.
- P1 β Do Points expire or roll over at the end of a subscription cycle?
- P1 β Mid-cycle plan downgrade: do previously purchased Points and unlocked candidates get locked again?
Screening / Advanced Searchβ
- P0 β A Job Description used for screening is edited or deleted while the job is running: does the job use a cached snapshot, or does it fail?
- P1 β Both sources selected simultaneously (My Talent Pool + Talent Community): how are results merged and ranked? Which source takes priority?
- P1 β Screening jobs run asynchronously, but no progress/loading state currently appears in the mockups. Does this take seconds or minutes? If minutes, the spec is missing a status screen (queued / processing / done).
Data & Privacy (legal risk β should be resolved early)β
- P0 β A candidate requests removal of their resume from Talent Community (per data protection regulations): do recruiters who already unlocked that profile lose access retroactively? If access cannot be revoked, the "non-refundable" policy conflicts with the candidate's right to data deletion.
- P1 β A resume's "last updated" date is very old (>1β2 years): is it flagged/deprioritized, or sold as if it were current?
Multi-Tenant / Permissionsβ
- P1 β An admin revokes a recruiter's access while that recruiter has a candidate detail page open: is the session killed immediately, or does it persist until it naturally expires?
- P2 β Can recruiters within the same company see a colleague's search history / list of unlocked candidates (to avoid duplicate purchases β directly related to the P0 Points question above)?
